The Ensemble's season closes with singers and orchestra joining together to present Haydn's monumental, yet seldom heard, meditation on the suffering of the Virgin Mary. Written in 1767, it was Haydn's most well-known sacred work during his lifetime. Spectacular soloists and vivid strings bring this Neapolitan masterpiece of solos and choruses to life.
