Brian Tierney has been a featured soloist in Portland, OR and Louisville, KY. Brian received his Bachelor of Music degree from Portland State University and then his Master’s degree from the University of Louisville. He has been a young artist with the Kentucky Opera, and has performed in numerous operas both as a chorister and in lead roles, which include Nanki Poo in The Mikado and Col. Fairfax in Yeoman of the Guard by Gilbert and Sullivan, and Alfred in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. Brian has been featured as a soloist in Bach’s St. John Passion as the Evangelist, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Brahms’ Zigeunerlieder. He has sung with various groups throughout the Portland area including the Portland State Chamber Choir, Madrigal Choir, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Oregon Repertory Singers, Portland Vocal Consort, Portland Opera and Cantores in Ecclesia. In 2007, Brian was recognized as the district winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in Kentucky. Brian lives with his family in Portland, OR. |
